Personal liability cover
If you have an accident overseas and become liable for damages, compensation and legal expenses, the cost for yourself and your family can be high.
Whether it’s damage to property, or you are responsible for the injury of another person, we provide cover for up to $1,000,000 for eligible claims under the personal liability section of our policy.
- If the unexpected happens and you feel that you might be liable, it’s important that you do not admit fault or liability to any other person without our written consent first.
- Legal liability must be established in either a New Zealand court or in a court in the country where the event occurred.
- There are some scenarios where we would not be able to pay your claim, for example, if the event relates to the use of motor vehicles, legal costs resulting from criminal proceedings or injury to members of your immediate family.
Please read the Policy Document for a full list of what is and isn’t covered.
