Flight delays can interrupt even well-planned trips. TravelCare Delay Assist is designed to support you in those moments with something useful you can use straight away or later.
If your registered flight is delayed by 2 hours or more (within 24 hours of scheduled departure), you receive a digital voucher to use in a way that suits you.
What you receive
If your flight delay meets the criteria, you receive a $50 NZD digital voucher (per person), which you can use for:
- Uber – get where you need to go
- Woolworths – pick up food or essentials
- TripGift – put it towards accommodation, car hire, tours or experiences
Use it during your trip, or once you’re back home in New Zealand.

To use TravelCare Delay Assist, your flights must be registered at least 24 hours before scheduled departure.
You can register up to 10 flights for up to 8 named travellers on your policy. Registering allows us to monitor your flights and step in if needed. Add them once, and you’re set.

What is TravelCare DelayAssist?
TravelCare Delay Assist is a benefit included with SCTI International Comprehensive Single Trip policies from 1 July 2026.
When you register your flights at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure, we monitor them. If your flight is delayed by 2 hours or more (within 24 hours of scheduled departure), we’ll notify you so you can redeem a benefit.
When do I need to add my flight details?
At least 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the flights.
How will SCTI contact me?
We’ll contact you via SMS and email using the details you provided when registering on the TravelCare Delay Assist portal, with a link to select your benefit.
What vouchers can I choose as my benefit?
Benefits may include digital vouchers such as:
- Uber
- Woolworths
- Or, TripGift (hotels, car hire, tours and experiences)
These can be used during your trip or after you return home.
Does this replace or reduce my standard policy cover?
No. This is an additional benefit and does not replace or reduce any of your other policy entitlements.
Do I need to purchase this separately?
No. TravelCare Delay Assist is included with your SCTI International Comprehensive Single Trip policy. It’s an additional SCTI benefit designed to provide extra support if your flight is delayed, and it doesn’t change or reduce any of the cover included elsewhere in your policy, such as changes to your journey benefits.
Can I register multiple flights?
Yes. You can add up to 10 flights and include up to 8 eligible passengers when you register. Only one registration is needed per policy.
*TravelCare Delay Assist is a benefit included within your SCTI International Comprehensive Single Trip policy. You must register your eligible flight details at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure. A delay must meet the minimum threshold (2 hours or more) to trigger benefits, and occur within the 24-hour period prior to its scheduled departure time. Customers will be notified via the SMS and email address provided during registration. Customers can register up to 10 flights for a maximum of 8 travellers who must be named on the policy. Customers will need to have activated roaming or have access to Wi-Fi to receive an SMS and/or email. Please read the TravelCare Delay Assist Endorsement.
**Digital vouchers entitlement is per person on the policy subject to a total policy limit of $800. Individual vouchers are not issued.
