Why can't I get travel insurance cover I need?
If we cannot provide you with insurance cover, it’s likely to be for one of the following reasons:
- some destinations present greater risk than others, or the Government may have raised travel advisories, so we have decided not to provide cover;
- you don’t meet other requirements of our eligibility criteria; or
- some pre-existing medical conditions present greater risk than others, and we cannot therefore offer you cover for your particular pre-existing medical conditions.
You have the right to ask us for the information we relied on to make the decision not to provide cover. For information about your options for alternative insurance cover, or approaching another insurer or an insurance broker, please contact the Insurance Council of New Zealand.
If you are unhappy with our decision, you can find information about our complaints process here.
