Southern Cross Health Insurance and Pet Insurance awarded silver in their respective categories

For the fourth year in a row the New Zealand public has voted Southern Cross Travel Insurance as the best in the game for outstanding customer service in the Readers Digest Quality Service Awards 2023, with Southern Cross Pet Insurance and Southern Cross Health Insurance awarded silver in their respective categories.

Announced this week, the awards are voted on by the public and are run every year to determine which New Zealand organisations have delivered the most outstanding customer service. Businesses are rated against five key pillars of customer service: personalisation, understanding, simplicity, satisfaction and consistency.

While Southern Cross Travel Insurance offers a range of comprehensive policies in plain English and a helpful always-on web-based chat service, the business places great emphasis on developing and strengthening its New Zealand-based customer care team. This ensures every customer gets the help and attention they deserve with every team member receiving intensive ongoing training which covers product and industry knowledge, and customer care.

Jo McCauley, CEO of Southern Cross Travel Insurance said that with a commitment to customer wellbeing, the business is proud to be acknowledged for its delivery of quality service.

“Our team always strives for warmth and empathy. After all, we’re supporting our customers with both the highs and lows that can come with travel adventures.

“Since the pandemic, we’ve found our customers are engaging with their policy wording more than ever – especially when it comes to what is and isn’t covered,” said McCauley. “This makes it more critical than ever that our people know the ins and outs of the products we sell, and how best to support every customer’s individual enquiry.”
