Whether it’s a minor sprain or a serious illness, a visit to the hospital can be expensive and upsetting if you’re unprepared. That’s why our Visiting New Zealand travel insurance includes cover for medical and evacuation expenses.

It’s important to note if you are aged 65 years or over, there is a three week stand down which limits claims under Section 1 Medical & Evacuation to $5,000 per person, per policy.

As a visitor to New Zealand, you may also be covered by the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) if you’re injured in an accident, which can assist you in paying for treatments like GP and dental services. It’s important that you claim through the ACC for accidental injuries before you claim through your travel insurance.

2. Changes to your journey

Flight cancellations and last-minute changes are an annoying reality of travelling. Thankfully, our Visiting New Zealand travel insurance also includes cover for changes to your journey, if an unexpected event means you need to alter your travel plans.

3. Personal accident
