Southern Cross Travel Insurance (SCTI) began trading in 1982 and now has over 30 years’ experience as a specialist travel insurer. The company is part of the Southern Cross Group and is 100% New Zealand owned, but operates as a separate legal entity to the Southern Cross Medical Care Society with its own dedicated Board of Directors.

As one of New Zealand’s most respected and knowledgeable travel insurers, we have a loyal customer base that values the comprehensive insurance products we provide.


Experts in a specialised field of insurance

At our offices in Auckland, we have a team of travel insurance experts dedicated to exceeding the expectations of our customers. Our Contact Centre can be accessed by calling 0800 800 571 or emailing info@scti.co.nz. We're open from 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday. To assist businesses and agents, we also have a dedicated sales team who are able to offer personal service when required.


Southern Cross Emergency Assistance

We offer our customers a 24/7 emergency phone line to contact our Southern Cross Emergency Assistance team. You can call this number while you’re travelling internationally for help with all kinds of travel issues. If you find yourself in hospital, or at the local police station reporting a theft, this is the first number to call.

We sell the majority of our travel insurance products direct to the public via the internet, which allows us to keep our prices low. We also sell our Working Overseas, International Student and Visiting New Zealand travel insurance through our network of agents and brokers.
