Please accept our heartfelt condolences to those who has been impacted by this terrible event, our thoughts are with you.

If you wish to know how this attack affects your policy, please read below.

If you purchased your policy prior to Friday 15th July 2016 11am NZST:

There is cover under Section 1.1 for medical expenses incurred during your journey in relation to the terrorist attack in Nice on the 15th July 2016 11am NZST. We will reimburse you for actual and reasonable medical expenses incurred or we will confirm payment for a qualifying hospital claim, up to $100,000 per policy.

Please refer to ‘Section 1 – Medical & Evacuation’ (1.1) on page 11 of your policy wording.

There is no cover under any other sections of your policy for any expenses you may incur directly or indirectly as a result of the terrorist attack in Nice, as acts of terrorism are a general exclusion of the policy (aside from cover as described above).

Please refer to ‘General Exclusions of this Policy Applying to All Sections’ (32) on page 11 of the policy wording.

There is also no cover for ‘Cancellation or Changes to Your Journey’ due to your disinclination to travel, your personal wishes or the disinclination to travel on the part of any other person upon whom your travel depends.

Please refer to ‘Losses We Do Not Cover Under Section 2’ (a) on page 12 of the policy wording.

If you wish to cancel your travel plans, please contact your service provider. Airlines, accommodation providers and tour companies may provide refunds, credit notes or alter your bookings without charging additional fees.

If you purchased your policy on or after Friday 15th July 2016 11am NZST:

There is no cover under any sections of your policy for any expenses you may incur directly or indirectly as a result of the terrorist attack in Nice, as acts of terrorism are a general exclusion of the policy.
