If you purchased your policy prior to Tuesday 23rd May 2017 9.35am NZDT:
There will be cover under Section 1.1 for medical expenses incurred during your journey in relation to the terrorist attack in Manchester, UK on 23 May 2017 at 9.35am NZDT. We will reimburse you for actual and reasonable medical expenses incurred, or we will confirm payment for a qualifying hospitalisation claim. The sub limit for claims relating to Terrorism is $100,000 per policy.
Please refer to ‘Section 1 – Medical & Evacuation’ (1.1) and ‘Sub Limits Applying to Section 1’ on page 10 of your policy wording.
There is no cover under ‘Section 2 – Changes to Your Journey’, ‘Section 5 – Personal Accident’ or ‘Section 6 – Personal Liability’ for any claims, costs or losses directly or indirectly arising from, related to or associated with the terrorist attack in Manchester, as acts of terrorism are a loss we do not cover under these sections of the policy.
Please refer to the ‘Losses We Do Not Cover’ under sections 2, 5 and 6 on pages 11, 13 and 14 respectively of the policy wording.
There is also no cover under ‘Section 2 – Changes to Your Journey’ due to your disinclination to travel, your personal wishes or the disinclination to travel on the part of any other person upon whom your travel depends.
Please refer to ‘Losses We Do Not Cover Under Section 2’ (b) on page 11 of the policy wording.
If you wish to cancel your travel plans, please contact your service provider. Airlines, accommodation providers and tour companies may provide refunds, credit notes or alter your bookings without charging additional fees.
If you purchased your policy on or after Tuesday 23rd May 2017 9.35am NZDT:
As this situation is not considered to be unexpected from this date and time, there is no cover under your policy for any expenses you may incur as a result of the terrorist attack in Manchester. You will still be covered for other unexpected events according to the terms and conditions of your policy.
