Eligibility criteria

So, you’re looking to apply for our Visiting New Zealand travel insurance policy for yourself or for a family member coming to visit. It’s important to understand whether you qualify for the Visiting New Zealand travel insurance policy or not.

To be eligible for this policy, you must:

a. hold a current New Zealand work visa or visitor visa;
b. be exempt from the requirements to hold a visa to New Zealand; or
c. be exempt from the requirements to hold a visa to visit New Zealand but must instead hold a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA).

You are not eligible for this policy if you:

d. are a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand; or
e. are travelling to New Zealand with the intention of obtaining medical or dental treatment, cosmetic surgery, or related advice; or
f. have been advised by a registered medical practitioner that you are not fit to travel.
