Arranging international student insurance

We aim to provide the highest level of service by making the application process straightforward and process policy applications on the same day they are received. When your school is set up to sell our International Student insurance, we will work with you to establish the best method to arrange policies for your students.

Worldwide Emergency Assistance for your students

Our Worldwide Emergency Assistance team is available to help relieve your concerns when unexpected things go wrong. If one of your students has an emergency or is unwell, Southern Cross Emergency Assistance can help ensure they receive the right medical treatment. If necessary, we can organise the student’s parents to come to New Zealand, or for the student to be flown to their home country. As with all insurance policies, some terms and conditions apply, please refer to the policy document for full details.

If You need emergency assistance, contact Southern Cross Emergency Assistance on +64 9 359 1602, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This number should be used for emergencies only, and not for general queries or claims queries.

Commission for your school

Although straightforward, we realise that arranging insurance for your students can become time consuming. As compensation for your efforts, commission is payable to the school for any policies arranged. This commission can be used as additional income for the school, to provide a discount for your international students, or a combination of both options – it’s your school’s choice!

To be eligible to receive commission on policies arranged, your school needs to be a contracted agent for Southern Cross Travel Insurance. Simply contact our Business Development Manager on 0800 784 691 or email agent@scti.co.nz for more information on how to become a Southern Cross Travel Insurance agent.

Travel insurance for staff at your school

We can also help with travel insurance for in-bound groups visiting New Zealand. This might include visiting family and friends of your students or staff, or educational professionals.
