Cover for natural disasters

Unfortunately, Thailand is no stranger to devastating natural events, like the Boxing Day Tsunami in 2004 that killed thousands. More recently, serious flash flooding and typhoons have claimed the lives of thousands more, including international travellers.

If your pre-paid travel plans need to be changed or cancelled due to an unexpected natural disaster, and you purchased a policy before this event occurred, you will be covered under your TravelCare policy. But if you book your travel after a natural disaster has occurred, any changes to your travel plans relating to that may not be covered. After all, it can’t be considered an “unexpected event”.
